With 2020 finally done and dusted, I thought I'd do a little recap post of all the projects I completed over the last year. Overall I'm pretty happy with the things I managed to make this year - I think I've finally worked out what my personal style is, and how to make clothes that fit with that.
In previous years, I've often poured a lot of time into projects for very specific events, which normally means these garments only get worn once, maybe twice if they're lucky. The complete and utter absence of any event requiring a new outfit has meant I've been more focused on clothes I want to re-wear, and needing to stay within the confines of my home at all times has made me much more inclined to take advantage of the resources I have available, rather than buying new all the time.
I also discovered the art of smocking this year, which it is no exaggeration to say has revolutionised my life, and I fully intend for my 2021 wrap up to include copious amounts of smocking projects. Anyway, enough of the writing, more of the photos! I've been quite slow to blog a few projects, so I'm including a few in here that don't have their own dedicated posts yet, but rest assured they will be coming in the next few months (for this same reason, some projects blogged in 2020 won't be included in here, since I actually made them in 2019). Also, it turns out I've made a lot of stuff, so this post is only going to cover separates (tops, skirts, trousers) and the next post will cover dresses & outerwear. Anyway, enjoy!
